Competitive Analysis

Workspace Structure

Competitive is organized into five main sections:
  1. Overview — Executive summary and strategic highlights
  2. Data — Dimension analysis and archetype insights
  3. Compare — Leaderboard, benchmarking, and battlecards
  4. Opportunities — Whitespace and strategic playbooks
  5. Strategy — Full competitive strategic report

Control Plane

At the top of the Competitive screen, you’ll find the Control Plane — a set of filters that let you customize your analysis: Competitive Control Plane Use the control plane to filter by time range, platform, and metrics
  • Time Range — Last 30/90 days, Current quarter, All time
  • Platform — TikTok, Instagram, or Both
  • Metric — Views, Engagement, or Likes
  • Normalization — Raw or normalized (accounts for follower count)
  • Freshness — How recent the data is
Use normalization when comparing brands of different sizes. It levels the playing field by accounting for follower count.

Overview Section

The Overview provides an executive summary of your competitive position: What you’ll see:
  • Your rank in the competitive set
  • Key performance highlights
  • Strategic tension points
  • Top opportunities
What to look for:
  • Where you rank vs competitors
  • Performance gaps to close
  • Competitive advantages to leverage

Data Section

The Data section provides detailed competitive analysis:

Dimensions Tab

What it shows: How you compare across content dimensions Metrics:
  • Format performance vs competitors
  • Emotional territory comparison
  • Narrative pattern differences
  • Aesthetic positioning
What to look for:
  • Dimensions where you lead
  • Dimensions where competitors win
  • Underexploited territories

Archetypes Tab

What it shows: Brand archetype positioning What to look for:

Formulas Tab

What it shows: Winning content formulas What to look for:
  • Universal winning combinations
  • Competitor-specific secret sauces
  • Formulas you can adopt

Compare Section

What it shows: Performance ranking Metrics:
  • Views performance
  • Engagement rates
  • Likes per 1K followers
  • Overall cultural score
What to look for:
  • Your position in the ranking

Benchmarking Tab

What it shows: Head-to-head quantitative comparison What to look for:
  • Specific metrics where you lead/lag
  • Performance deltas
  • Quick wins to close gaps

Battlecards Tab

What it shows: Competitor battlecards with strengths and weaknesses Competitor Battlecards Battlecards show competitor positioning, strengths, and weaknesses What to look for:

Opportunities Section

The Opportunities section highlights competitive opportunities:

What it shows: Underexploited high-lift opportunities What to look for:

  • Quick wins to gain advantage

Playbook Tab

What it shows: Strategic playbook for competitive advantage What to look for:

Strategy Section

The Strategy section contains the full Competitive Strategic Report — a comprehensive analysis of your competitive landscape. What it includes:
  • Executive summary with performance leaderboard
  • Head-to-head benchmarking
  • Cultural reference competitive analysis
  • Winning formulas
  • Strategic playbook
  • Top-performing video examples
How to use it:
